TV star hosts new prime time show from the Lakes.
The Lake District is set to be showcased to millions of television viewers this weekend as long-running rural affairs programme Countryfile, moves to a new prime-time slot of 7pm on BBC1 this Sunday (12th July)

The first ever episode is hosted from the Lakes by the programme's new co-presenter, Julia Bradbury; who joins the Countryfile team after the success of the popular Wainwright Walks TV series.
Julia spent last weekend (March 29th) filming the show here at Honister where she donned a helmet and harness to try out the mine's high-altitude adventure experience, the Via Ferrata.

Mark led Julia on the Via Ferrata, and commented: "She was a really good sport and wasn't fazed by it all, although she did utter one or two expletives that you don't usually hear on Sunday night prime time telly. The weather was superb while she was here and she genuinely loves the Lake District. In the recession, the exposure can only give tourism businesses in Cumbria a boost by showing people just how amazing this place can look."
