Good on you, your vision, drive and determination has not been in vain. You've got a really good quality educational visitor attraction and long may it continue it's success. We've really enjoyed our tour it was incredibly informative. Keep up the good work.

I visited Honister Slate Mine on 15/11/07 with my husband. We had a fantastic time. There are many things to do and many places to visit at the Lake District, but this is a must do attraction. This mine is an interesting, educational, and breath taking experience that will never be forgotten. I personnally have to say that this tour is very good value for money and should not be missed

Just a short note to thank you & your colleagues, not forgetting Shelly & her staff at the Yew Tree, for hosting the visit from the American journalists the other day. In particular to thank Mark for smoothing our passage along Borrowdale. Also to Celia for her wonderful guided tour underground, Kimberley level seemed another world away just a few hours later in a damp, noisy Manchester.
For many the visit to Cumbria was their last event before returning to "The States" so I am sure they will be returning with some vivid memories of the County and it's people.
Once again many thanks it was a pity that we did not have more time with you on the day.

Really enjoyed tour of the mine last week. Very interesting and great fun walking into the depts of the mine. The terrible weather made it really atmospheric, although the ride up the mine was pretty scary for the people sat on the cliff side of the bus! Tour guide (Mark's Mum!) was also brilliant - will recommend to all!

Mark riving slate on a tour
I have been coming to the lakes now for about 25 years and probably covered all the fells in this time. I've seen all the tourist attractions and have to say that the mine tour was by far the best thing I've been on since I started visiting the lakes. The jeep ride up to the mine was great, the mines themselves were spectacular and it was very interesting listening to the guide (Marks Mum - Celia) and free coffee when we returned to the centre, who could ask for more, well worth the cost of the tour.
Well done to Mark and his staff, I will definatley recommend to others.
Thanks from Mr J H, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Our trip to the slate mine was one of the best trips all week. The talk was very interesting and I learned alot about mining in the old days. It's freezing down the mine but it was worth it because you get to wear one of those funny hats.
Thanks for putting up with us - West Flegg Middle School

Myself and my wife have recently come back from a holiday to The Lake District. The highlight of it, by far, was a visit to Honister Slate Mine. We came across the details be accident in a leaflet and we were glad we did. It was fantastic! The staff were very friendly and the guide made the tour come alive. I've never been anywhere so dark in my life! When he switched off all the lights it was amazing. I will certainly be recommending the Mine Tour to everyone I know, as it really is the best attraction in the area.
Keep up the good work

We had a great time on Saturday with St. Aidans Scouts on the Via Ferrata and the mine tour. Please thank Mike & Roland for me.

Via Ferrata Spectacular - Going was not as hard as I expected only a couple of places where I felt my legs were not long enough to climb. Had a beautiful day the views off the top were unbelievable, Buttermere, Crummock, Loweswater and the Solway Firth beyond. The tour guide Simon was great he let you take your time, pointing out interesting features and Plants giving plenty of time for photos and breathers along the way.

On behalf of everyone on the 'Street Doctor BBC1' production team, thank you very much indeed for all your help in making our filming a great success.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the mine & were greatly appreciative of your warm hospitality. The view from the Via Ferrata should look amazing and the Street Doctor engraved slate was brilliant. So, thanks for that!

Dear Mr Weir, Thankyou for taking me for my work experience placement. It was a good introduction to the world of work. I was able to watch the interesting activities inside the quarry which was the highlight of the week. This placement has enlightened me about my career in the near future.
Thank you - Mr B.A - Keswick School

We are most grateful to you for mending the floor of the Bus Shelter at Fourways, Stonethwaite. It was very helpful and generous of you.
With best wishes and thanks - Borrowdale Parish Council

2007
The donation of the slate was fantastic, you gave the students a project which they completed. During the moving and building the students learned skills and knowledge on how to build a dry stone wall they also learned how to work as part of a team, communicated with each other, build on friendships, learn about the outdoors etc but, most of all they had fun. So a huge big Thank You for giving them something to be proud of.

My order arrived today in wonderful shape. Thanks for all the careful packing. Your products are beautiful - was so glad to find your website to do some early Christmas shopping.
Thanks for your prompt and efficient service. Mrs M.L - Greenville, SC USA

We have just returned from a holiday in The Lakes where we visited the Slate Mine. We bought home with us some wonderful table mats, which look fantastic in our kitchen and we just wanted to say thank you.

I've got my Honister slate hearth fixed in place now. I must say I think it looks great - I really do like it. It was well worth the journey

Just to let you know that the bench was safely delivered today, in good condition. It is lovely to have a bit of the Lakes down in flat Cambridgeshire, especially as I know your site so well - I've walked through many times to and from the fells, and bought items from the shop which I could just carry! Thanks for such good and prompt service in this transaction.
Best wishes - Jane

My wife and I would like to thank Honister Slate Mine, and Martin in particular, for the stone you have produced in memory of our daughter. We could not have wished for something more lifting.
